Author bios

About our authors

Kenneth C. Laudon (BA, Stanford University; PhD, Columbia University) was a Professor of Information Systems at New York University’s Stern School of Business, where he taught courses on Managing the Digital Firm, Information Technology and Corporate Strategy, Professional Responsibility (Ethics), and Electronic Commerce and Digital Markets for more than 30 years. He also authored numerous books dealing with e-commerce, information technology, information systems, organizations and society, as well as more than 40 articles concerned with the social, organizational and management impacts of information systems, privacy, ethics and digital technology. Ken’s work has had a lasting influence on the MIS field and although he has passed away, his ideas continue to infuse the content of the text.

Jane Price Laudon (BA, Barnard College; MA, Harvard University; PhD, Columbia University) is a management consultant in the information systems area and the author of 7 books. She has taught at Columbia University and New York University’s Stern School of Business. Her special interests include systems analysis, data management, MIS auditing, software evaluation and teaching business professionals how to design and use information systems.
